2 Years Anniversary

Happy New Year !! Time really fly, I already married for 2 years! Today is my 2 years Anniversary. As usual, we shall take this opportunity to go out to hunt for something nice, however our tummy are filled with food recently. You know, X'mas party, New Year party, all food food food! Therefore the night before I was actually suggest to eat something lighter i.e.: Porridge. My hubby agreed.

But, plan was changed the next day. He said he still want to eat heavy food! So we on our way to Shepherdoo, at Centro Klang. (I think they haven't renew their website yet as the menu I had was different.)

I never been there, my hubby did, once. They had upgraded their menu to more choices. I remember my sister in law told me that the menu was limited. But now I feel that the menu like never ended, the style is similar to TGIF type of concept.

We ordered 2 mocktails (half price before 9pm) and main courses for the night, we had our own dessert waiting for us at home, hehe..in fact, it was in the car. Here was our orders:

Leche De Coconut (RM9.95, after 50% discount) I did not like it, I think they use packed coconut milk instead of the fresh one, therefore the coconut taste very pungent and artificial.

Lychee Mojito (RM10.45m after 50% discount). Quite nice, these is the combination of lychee, lime and mint. However the it was too "chunky" until it was very hard for us to suck the juice, haha. And the ice flakes was rough and hard, same as previous drink.

Pasta Ala Pollo (RM20.80). This is chef recommend. Yeah, it was nice, strong garlic taste in the sauce, I think they minced the capsicum and basil together. It was a bit oily however the spicy note in fact dilute the fullness of the whole dish, besides it served together with sauteed onion and tomato, a slice of pineapples and a huge piece of chicken breast. Chicken was a bit dry but overall is nicee.

The Shepherdoo's Gringo Burger (RM23.80). It is optional for chicken or beef. We had beef one. It was juicy, it was nice with the combination of a egg and melty cheese slice. It was served together with small bowl of salad with balsamic sauce and curly french fries. I like the fries! It was so so crispy!

Total bill come was RM71.50, with 10% service charge. We were full, the portion was big, it is worth with the price we paid. However, before we went for the dinner, we had bought something for our dessert...hehe....Da-lang!!!

Musang Durian! (I stole the pic from internet, we were too excited and busy eating until I forgot to take picture!) Our friend told us that the price had gone down to RM16/kg, so we went to buy, and it was so so so nice!!!!It was so creamy and taste was so strong and think! Combination of bitter and sweet was just nice!..

Look again..(Ahem...this pic is also from internet...:P) We ended our Anniversay night with super duper full tummy. Satisfaction...? Err...we are thinking to buy the durian again next week, kekekekeke!!

Mini Oreo Cheese Cake

As I mentioned in my previous blog, I had prepared Oreo Cheese Cake for my few X'mas dinner. Finally I did take some pictures for it. I got the recipe from Table for Two Or More. I love her website, I've tried some dishes from her blog and it really works! My experience, most of the time I need to adjust the recipe which I get from internet, eg: sugar content etc. But for this, I can get the good result for the 1st time testing. Some parameters might be varied because we are using the different oven or cooking style, however for the recipe and method, I highly recommend this website :)

This is a very simple recipe, here are the ingredients. The original recipe was using 150ml condensed milk. However I slightly modified it as this is not the real condensed milk (check this out: TheNutGraph by Tony Pua), and I don't have time to and look for the real one, so I just used 2 1/2 tbsp condensed milk + 2 tbsp brown sugar. The result was good.

 Oreo for top decoration.

Left over oreo will be mashed into crumbs. I don't have the food processor so I crushed it manually, it really took some times :(

Half tbsp crushed oreo filled into the cup. I am new in baking so the mould and the cup size I bought was in fact not really fit in to each other, hehe...luckily the result still ok.

 A closer look.

Beaten egg white. This was the 3rd time I beat egg white, I am proud to say the result is getting better than last time, I remember the 1st time, the egg white turned back to liquid in few minutes.

 The cream cheese mixture.

Beaten egg white was added into the mixture.

 Ready to bake.

Ooppss, almost forgot about the decoration.

The cup size I used was a bit smaller, therefore I can make 14 in totals. (Original recipe was 12). Therefore I have to separate my oreo for extra two, also looks good to me, hoho!

Dang-lang! It smells so good and tastes so niceee~

 Side view.

The cookies will turn soft after you chill it in fridge. However, many of them in fact expect the oreo cookies to be crunchy. Well, if it is crunchy, it will smash the cheese when you bite on it, wont it?

I use microwave conventional oven at home so I increased the baking temperature to 170°C for 25min. I tried 20min, the stick tester was wet, so I maintained it at 25min. Therefore you can see it was puffed up and cracked from oven. I will play around with the temperature again next time. Yeah, it is nice, and it will be many next time :)

Christmas Potluck 2

Today is a replacement public holiday, therefore my family decided to have X'mas dinner on tonight. It was another potluck session for this joyful festive event, since we still have ingredients from the last event therefore my hubby and I decided to prepare the same dish for this 3rd X'mas event, hehe!

My sister told me that she will prepare jelly, however, she in fact prepared much more that she promised. The dishes tonight were:

Sis cooked it, Wong Kok's Chee Cheong Fun Pan Cake.

Mom's Home Style Fish Cake, super bouncy and juicy!

Sis's Yam Paste and Bacon Roll, the bread was lightly too dry. However, eat it with the dish below was nice~

Curry Mutton. Dad bought it from Port Klang, nice!

Sis said no vege so she added this to the menu, Cabbage stir fried with Bacon.

Hubby Spaghettie Bolonese (again!) Yeah, everyone thumbs up again!

Elder bro bought this from Shi Lin Jusco, Taiwan Giant Chicken Chop.

Dishes for the night. I forgot one more Egg Rolls Wrapped with Two Taste Fillings: shredded coconut with crushed peanut & shredded coconut with palm sugar. Nice~

 Dessert: 3-layer-jelly. Soybean-Milo-coconut.

Dad doesn't eat sweet thing, so my sis made him a whiskey coconut jelly, haa! Dad wishes the % of whiskey can be higher, haha!

My Oreo Cheese Cake. Recipe is here

Elder bro and his girlfriend decorated this~

Ho Ho Ho !! Hope that you had enjoyed your Christmas too~

Christmas Potluck 1

Ho! Ho! Ho! It's X'mas time again...oopss...I know I am late, it already over :P New Year is coming soon~ Anyway, just want to share with you that I was busy for few X'mas potluck party during the holidays. I missed the photo for the 1st event which held at my sister in law house last two week. The photo I posted here was from last Saturday (hubby friend's house), 2nd event.

We ordered Roasted Turkey from The Ship Restaurant (my hubby works there) for Saturday event. This was our 1st time to eat the whole Turkey, it was huge, ~5kg (RM260+), here is the cutting session:

I did not know that people normally eat breast part only until that day. The leg part is so tender, hard to chew. The breast meat was tough, not like chicken meat. 3 sauces was given: brown gravy, black pepper sauce and cranberries sauce. It tasted quite nice if you eat together with the chestnut stuffing.

Besides, my hubby did prepare spaghetti bolognese (which everyone showing thumbs up), I prepared oreo cheese cake (which I will show you the process in my next blog), his friend prepare seafood tom yum and salads.

Here are some food pictures for that night:

Roasted Turkey. It comes with some vegetables: corn on cob, broccoli and baby potatoes.

Spaghetti noodles.

Yummy and super meaty bolognese sauce

Crunchy Salad.

Seafood Tom yum and all dishes we were having on X'mas eve.

We ended the night with joy and fun and also with our super full tummy :D

Pre-Annual Dinner

My company dinner just over, it was held on Subang Holiday Villa Hotel on 16th December 2011. This was the 1st time our company attend the dinner and we were being informed that was a theme for the night: Hollywood + Bollywood = JollyGood.

Initial I was planning to wear normal dinner dress for the night, but so happened MD joined in the committee meeting and told us that we must follow the theme. Well, I think as a committee, we should set a good example, if not how are we going to convince the rest to follow the theme. Therefore, one week before the dinner, I rushed to Klang Indian Street, Jalan Tengku Kelana to buy Saree.

I managed to get a cheaper saree clothes, however the cost for tailor to make a ready-button-wrapped-saree is expensive. My hubby kept mentioned that I wasted that money because he bet that I would only wear it one time.

I don't care. Here it is:

I love it! My mom chose the color for me :D The 10m saree clothes cost RM60, however tailor fee cost RM100 (@_@)..Then the necklace set and bangles cost about RM40. OMG, this pre-annual dinner thingy already cost me RM200!! Well, there is nothing given to committee, no sponsor from HQ, so we need to pay by ourselves. Anyway, It was a great night, I am glad everyone was enjoying the night. I tried to collect the photo now, will post it here later.

Our company performed "Thriller" during that night, here are my performers:

Ada gaya..Haa! I trained them since July, hehe, they got 3rd prize (out of 4 teams, ahem...) Well...I kept telling them winning is not the most important part, I just want everyone to have fun and enjoy. I will post it here after I got the photo/video later.

Singapore Trip, Part II

I never had been this busy before, maybe because I was one of the dinner committee for this year. And finally it had over! Anyway, I shall continue my part II Singapore trip.
The next day, we headed to our main destination of this trip , ta-dang!!!!

This was actually taken in evening, when we about to leave the studio.

 Me!

Unfortunately, it was a rainy day, really bad luck, sigh..

Back to years ago, I remember I could ride this several times, but now.. my heart getting smaller and smaller...yeah...I didn't try it...@_@

Nice view with nice couple, hehe!

Night view outside the Universal Studio.

Hard Rock Hotel. Frankly speaking it was so so only, the breakfast choices was really not worth to mention.

Dinner at Hard Rock cafe.

 Drinks, normal.

Appetizer, I told you it was half a year ago, I cant remember the name. Tasted ok ok.

As you can see, it's burger :P

 Pork Spare Rib.
Salad, My friend was food poisoning after had this. She vomited in their hotel lobby when we were checking out the next day. I think we better have fully-cooked food next time.

 Pork steak.

The next day we went for this dessert, sorry I cant provide the correct info because...yes..it's half a year ago...I totally cannot recall..I think I am getting older..

All these are made from Mao san (猫山王) Durian. Just in different look. This was recommended by blogger, he says this is a must-try when visit to Singapore.

Frozen, too hard to be eaten!

This once even harder!

Finally it could be beaten! It was all in frozen, the hotel was not serving this when we was there, they asked if we are mind having that in frozen, my hubby and his friend were craving for these so they shake their head without hesitating. Well, the durian is from Malaysia, but we had the further processed product in our neighbour country, very hard to explain the feeling..Overall is ok. But not to the extend I will go there if I visit to Singapore again.

Anyway, I gained weight after this trip, as always, this was makan trip mah. I will go there again as I found that 3 days 2 nights was really too short, I didn't even have time to visit my friends over there. I make sure I will note down all the info and share with you all next time, hehe!
